Hey !!👋

Meet Jane Shore, co-founder of Revolution school. Revolution School is a new high school in Philadelphia where students get to co-create their academic journey.

She believes in learning where kids have the opportunity to explore and define their own paths.

Jane is an education entrepreneur with a passion for creating and delivering student-centered learning experiences.

At Revolution School, Jane has put into practice her vision of personalized learning which allows students to explore their passions, develop skills, and find purpose.

Revolution School provides a learning environment that is designed to give students the freedom to make choices and take ownership of their education.

What is special about learning in the Revolution school?

  • The setting is small, personalized, and learner-centered.

  • Each student gets an individual learning plan tailored to their interests, strengths, and previous experiences.

  • Class sizes are small so that students get more individualized attention from teachers.

  • The curriculum they follow is flexible, allowing them to explore their interests and take different paths.

  • Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning journey and develop skills at their own pace.

  • Children get to volunteer for entrepreneurship or internships to gain real experience.

In addition to a personalized learning environment, the school offers unique opportunities for students to engage with the world around them. With access to mentors in the community, field trips, internships, and hands-on learning activities, students are able to explore real-world applications for their newfound knowledge.

I asked her how she reaches out to people.

“We met a lot of parents, as well attending workshops and conferences focused on education reform. Our goal is to create meaningful connections with the community", says Jane

.Jane and her team are dedicated to igniting the spark of innovative thinking in their students and empowering them to reach their fullest potential. She believes that the school has something special to offer and she's excited to be part of an educational revolution.

AI tool - Quick Draw

This week we learned about Quick Draw from Google.

The game prompts players to draw a specific object within 20 seconds while the AI attempts to guess what it is in real time.

The goal of Quick Draw is to demonstrate how machine learning algorithms work by allowing users to participate in the training of the AI.

It can be explored by taking turns with friends and family!

Whether you're looking to learn more about AI or just want to have some fun drawing, Quick Draw is a great way to get started.

Conscious Bonding

Bonding with kids with minimum effort

Bonding with kids can be a very rewarding experience, but it doesn't have to involve a lot of effort or expense. Here are a few ideas for bonding with your child that require minimal effort:

  1. Spend time outdoors: Simply spending time in nature can be a great way to bond with your child. Take a walk, go for a hike, or have a picnic in the park.

  2. Play a game: Playing a board game, card game, or video game with your child is a fun and easy way to bond. You can even make it a regular part of your routine.

  3. Read together: Reading with your child is a great way to bond and build literacy skills. You can take turns reading to each other, or read the same book and discuss it together.

  4. Cook together: Preparing a meal or baking a treat together is a fun and low-key way to bond with your child. You can teach them new skills, share family recipes, and enjoy a delicious meal together.

  5. Listen to music: Listening to music together is a great way to bond and share your favorite songs and artists. You can also have a dance party and let loose.

Remember, the most important thing is to spend quality time with your child and show them that you care. Even small gestures and activities can go a long way in building a strong and meaningful bond
