Education Next-forty fifth Edition

Reading time: 8.10 min

Hey !!👋

This week lets read about:

  • The story of the little girl who fell in love with Chimps

  • Adi attends Canva Create Event

  • Will self-learners rule the planet?

Who knew that soft toy gifted in the childhood would become her career in the future?

Jane Goodall was born on April 3rd, 1934 in London, England.

She developed love for animals from her early childhood when she was gifted a soft toy chimpanzee named Jubilee.

She liked to spend time in nature from her childhood.

Jane Goodall's schooling was interrupted due to the World War II.

But her interest in animals and wildlife kept growing.

She was lucky to have a mom who supported her.

Her passion for animals and nature drove her to travel to Africa to study Chimpanzees.

She did not have any formal education in Science or Anthropology, but she was determined to learn more about the behavior of primates.

She observed them closely and collected data that she shared with scientists around the world; thus making a remarkable contribution to science.

In 1977, she founded the Jane Goodall Institute which is now a global non-profit organization dedicated to continuing her work and research.

The inspiring story of Jan Goodall teaches us how passion and interest-based learning can lead to success in life.

Learning With Adi

Adi attended Canva create event this week, he has been using Canva for a long time now and he was very excited to attend the event.

He got the chance to explore new features of Canva and gain insight into how these tools can be used to create beautiful designs.

Adi learned a lot from attending this event, such as how to create effective visuals with Canvas tools and templates.

It was interesting to see that he wanted to see the new launches and see the founders of Canva presenting the tools to an audience.

It is interesting how we bond with the brand when we attend such events and get to know the team behind it.

The best thing is that he explores these things himself out of his interest.

If your kids enjoy technology these events are perfect to let them explore the tools and understand how they work.

Conscious Bonding

Bonding with kids over Self-learning

Have you or your kids learned anything by themselves recently? The chances are high that your answer will be yes.

Self-learning is becoming increasingly popular among people of all ages and backgrounds, as it offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge at your own pace and in the manner, you find most suitable.

Young people are learning a lot of skills these days, such as coding, programming, graphic design, etc. without having to go through any formal educational institution.

They are simply learning with the help of various online resources like YouTube channels and websites that offer tutorials and step-by-step instructions.

We have seen a lot of new jobs emerge lately that require self-learning as a prerequisite.

Many companies are now looking for people who can quickly adapt to their environment and learn new skills on the go.

There are content creators out there who make money from their self-taught skills. This is a testament to how powerful and rewarding the practice of self-learning can be for anyone.

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”
