Future of Living

When 2-year-old Mira was learning to climb up and down on the swing, she was not just having fun.

As she climbed up, she developed her coordination, gross motor skills, and balance.

When sliding down, she was training her body awareness and proprioception - our sense of movement and position.

At the same time, she picked a yellow leaf and asked her Papa, “Why did the leaf change colour?”

“Why the leaf changed color?” asked little Mira

This question is natural for a curious 2-year-old but also an opportunity to learn about nature and the changing seasons.

Being outdoors exposes young children to stimuli that encourage them to explore and learn about the world around them.

So, her Papa explained how the temperature drops and days get shorter during fall, which causes trees to stop producing chlorophyll, the green pigment that gives leaves their colour.

Doesn't this give an incredible opportunity for Papa to bond with Mira and teach her about science, nature, and the changing of seasons?

Mira's Papa uses technology like Bard to explain such concepts to his daughter, which is an exceptional way to learn together.

This strengthens the bond between Papa and little Mira as they share a moment of learning and discovery in the great outdoors.

Using AI to help kids learn in the park is what I call living in the future.

In this serene moment, her Papa was not merely providing an answer but laying the foundation for a lifelong connection with the natural world.

The conversation was a symphony of curiosity, exploration, and bonding. Mira's young mind absorbed the wisdom of the seasons, nature's rhythm, and transformation's magic.

These precious moments spent outdoors were more than just conversations; they were lessons in appreciation, encouragement, and freedom to learn.

Through the art of subtle teaching, he empowered Mira to embrace the world's wonders with open arms.

Future of Learning

I am intrigued by the concept of self-learning.

Self-learning is teaching yourself something new without relying on help from another person or external source.

It requires an individual to dedicate time and effort to developing their knowledge base independently, with no guidance or support from anyone else.

Self-learning can be incredibly rewarding, as it allows you to pursue interests that you may not have had the opportunity to explore in a traditional educational setting.

It can also be beneficial from a career standpoint, as self-learning can help you gain skills and knowledge that employers may value.

Self-learning is a remarkable and individualized learning process. The self-learner possesses a unique drive to gain knowledge and actively seeks opportunities to acquire it.

Whether it's the desire to explore a new subject, develop a skill, or delve into a specific area of interest, self-learners exhibit an intrinsic motivation that propels them toward learning. In the internet age, self-learners have many resources at their fingertips.

Online courses, tutorials, and diverse educational content allow them to shape their learning journey as they see fit.

The absence of rigid schedules and deadlines provides the freedom to evaluate their progress and make adjustments, ensuring that the learning experience is both practical and fulfilling.

Is Self-learning the future of learning?

The idea of learning independently has been around for centuries and continues to grow in popularity as technology advances.

Self-learning could serve as a way for individuals to become even more well-rounded, creative thinkers who can take advantage of opportunities without relying on traditional schooling methods.
