Hello All,

We have continued to travel from Solan,

We visited this beautiful place called Tirthn Valley in Himachal.

You can hear the river sound from everywhere in this place.

We trekked to the Chhoie Waterfalls.

Finding the waterfalls wasn’t easy,

but it was like a test for us to continue trekking.

Adi was not feeling well but he continued and as they saw once we knew we were closer to the waterfall it felt different.

We felt recovered from the tiredness.

We spent much time near the waterfalls and successfully found our way back to the homestay.

Tirthan Valley was so calming that sometimes it felt like I could hear my thoughts.

We visited some local cafes and had the opportunity to chat with people.

Because we had a limited internet connection, we spent a lot of time planning, accounting, and talking.

We also enjoyed the homestay and the family who hosted was kind to cook local cuisines and we made sure to participate in their kitchen to be a part of their cooking.

We enjoyed hearing their stories and learning about mountain gods and customs.

This reminds me of a conversation we were having with the farmers in Solan last week,

They were talking about how people always want to change the locals and the locals start accommodating the people from town modernising everything.

Wouldn’t it be great if we made conscious efforts to learn about local cultures and food and have hearty conversations with local people?

Visiting Strot Foundation

Adi and I visited the after-school program by the Strot Foundation in Tirthan Valley,

It was great to see children coming together to learn after school.

They were learning basic concepts in maths and English.

Teachers help them practice concepts that they don’t understand in school.

I thought it was a great way to bring kids together and help community kids learn.
