Hello All,

Your boys can’t sit still in one place.

The teachers complain, and you start to worry—could they have ADD/ADHD?

You begin contemplating medication to calm them down, but before you take that step, ask yourself:

Why are they expected to sit in one place for so long?

Why are we failing to understand their natural need to move, to use their bodies, to play rough, climb trees, and get dirty in the mud?

Who decided that children, whether boys or girls, should be confined to classrooms for hours?

The alarming rise in ADD/ADHD diagnoses worldwide is concerning, but are we addressing the root cause?

Perhaps it’s time we reconsider the structure of our schools and the expectations we place on our children.

“The schools are not well adapted to boys. I don't think they're particularly well adapted to girls either by the way, but they're particularly not well adapted to boys. - Jordan Peterson.
